The Saltmate RP30 Deluxe Auto-Clean Saltwater Pool Chlorinator (45g/hr) is your solution for effortless, high-quality pool maintenance.
Now featuring a new digital chlorinator display, this model offers enhanced convenience with a sleek design, battery backup, and a high-contrast LCD. The inbuilt digital timer controls the pool pump and chlorinator, offering a 24-hour timer with 15-minute intervals for precise scheduling.
Designed and constructed in Australia, the Saltmate RP30 is weather-protected with an I.P 34 rated water-resistant casing, ensuring durability in harsh outdoor climates. With self-cleaning technology, adjustable chlorine control, and compatibility with mineral salt blends, the Saltmate RP30 delivers consistently soft, safe, and sparkling pool water.
Saltmate saltwater electrolytic cells are constructed with premium-grade, high-production material and are designed with high flow rate parallel solid plate. The cell reverses polarity to inhibit calcium build up and keep maintenance to an absolute minimum.
All Saltmate saltwater chlorinators can be installed onto new or existing pools without the need to change any other filtration equipment and are also compatible with mineral salt blends.
How it Works:
Saltwater chlorinators generate pure chlorine gas which is instantly added to the pool water, this is acheived through the simple process of electrolysis.
A saltwater chlorination system consists of the electrolytic cell which is plumbed last inline after your filtration system just before the return to pool and a power supply mounted closeby. The Saltmate power supply allows you to monitor and control the chlorine output of the electrolytic cell, adjust the inbuilt time clock and manually override the pool filter pump and electrolytic cell.
When a small quantity of common salt is added to the water and a safe low voltage is sent from the power supply to the electrolytic cell, pure chlorine gas is produced instantly dissolving. This provides a much more convenient, reliable and safe way to sanitise your swimming pool or spa.

Recommended Levels To Ensure Optimal Operation:
Pool chemistry should be tested at least once a week during summer months.
- Salt Level
4000ppm – 6000ppm by weight with 5000ppm being ideal (never below 4000ppm). All Saltmate models are over-salt protected and can run with levels higher than 6000ppm (ie: sea water) - Free Chlorine
1.5ppm – 3.0ppm depending on the time of day, and period of time since the chlorinator has been running. Adjust by altering the chlorine output level or the operating hours. If levels have become too low manual super chlorination may be required. - pH and Total Alkalinity
A pH of 7.2 to 7.6 and a total alkalinity of 80ppm – 120ppm unless advised otherwise by your pool professional. Fibreglass pool suppliers usually recommend a pH of 6.9 to 7.2. To lower the pH and total alkalinity add hydrochloric acid, to raise the pH and total alkalinity add sodium bicarbonate. These levels may not be achievable with some water supplies. - Stabiliser
40-80ppm, pool stabiliser, also called cyanuric acid helps the chlorine produced to last longer. Without it in your water your chlorinator will need to run longer than it otherwise would. Hardness 100 to 250 ppm. Levels higher than the recommended level will result in a less efficient cell in regards to its chlorine production, a more frequent need for cleaning, and a chance the cell will fail prematurely. To minimise chances of high hardness levels minimise or avoid the use of chemicals containing calcium, especially, “Calcium Hardness” and calcium-based granular chlorine.
Cleaning The Electrolytic Cell:
The Saltmate cell operates only efficiently when it is clean. A “dirty” electrode will have visible deposits of calcium and other matter built up.
RP models under normal conditions automatically reverse their polarity to clean deposits off the cell, though other factors like high calcium hardness levels in your water could result in the occasional need for a manual clean.
- 5 Years Manufacturer Warranty. 2 Years full warranty on powerpack and electrolytic cell followed by a further 3 Years pro rata warranty on electrolytic cell.
